Great News! I’m an Contestant in The 2021 Ms Senior Jacksonville Pageant

After turning 65 years old in April, I reminded myself that I’m still the same person I was when I was 64 years old. But, I wanted to do something different. So, I entered a Pageant. This pageant is for mature Ladies who want the opportunity to show the world that they are still relevant. I wanted to chance to move my passion for Health and Wellness forward to a reach more people.

Hitting A Milestone- Turning 65 Years Old

When you are blessed to be given 65 plus years to live, it’s humbling. On April 16, I had my 65th birthday. Weeks later, I’m still walking on air. My Husband and I drove a RV Motorhome down to The Florida Keys. I must say that it was the most fun that I have had in a long time.

Happy New Year! Spring Has Arrived! A Time of New Growth and Renewal.

The “Real” New Year begins with a new cycle of life. Time for regrowth and renewal. In The Year 46 B.C., Julius Caesar created what is known as the Julian Calendar. April 1, was celebrated as New Years Day. In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII replaced the Julian calendar with what is now known as the Gregorian Calendar, which celebrates New Years Day on January 1.

The problem is, you can not begin something new in the “dead of winter”. In the Julian calender, a new year started around the time of The Vernal Equinox, which is around March 20. This is when the hours of day and night are equal.

In Astrology, it’s when The Sun enters the Sign of Aries. My Husband and I, just started our garden last weekend on March 20, 2021. The weather changes, flowers start to bloom, and leaves begin to turn green. This is Mother Nature waking up. Get out there Folks, let’s celebrate The New Year!.

Better Days Are Just Over The Horizon In 2021. A New Day Is Growing Closer!

We did it! We made it through the past twelve months of going through the challenges of The Covid-19 Virus. I’m very sad to report that many of our Friends, Family, and love ones did not survive . Last week I received my

first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine. I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I’m really unsure how I feel bout the whole vaccination process.

Some have said that they just will not get it. I will trust the science. I will follow up after I get my second dose. For the millions of Citizens waiting for their turn to take the vaccine, many are wondering what they should do in the meantime.

There are a lot of “immune Boosting” remedies that are being published about how to improve your immune system. Many are recommending taking different supplements like vitamin B, C and or vitamin D. They are probably more helpful in general overall well being. According to Dr. Suzanne Cassel, an Immunologist at Cedars-Sinai, says the medical community still do not fully understand how our immune system works. She also says, if you are diabetic, obese or smoke, there is a good chance that your immune system is not working the way it should.

Well, what works? What can we do? Does anything help? This is what we know for sure.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Covid-19 is believed to be mainly spread from person to person. To prevent illness and avoid being exposed to the virus, The CDC recommends washing your hands often. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face covering. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. In addition to these basic practices, you can protect yourself more by getting enough sleep, eat balanced meals, exercise and reduce stress.

Goodbye September-Six Months of Covid-19 Lockdown

In the past six months, since March 2020, most of The United States have been in some level of state restrictions or lockdowns. I live in Florida, so we enjoy beautiful weather most of the year. It has been very hard to shelter in place.

There was even a period of time, when we could not go and enjoy the beach, nor enjoy the Atlantic Ocean. How did you Guys make it through the previous months.

I have been lucky. I was able to work my business from my Home Office. Also, I was able to continue Cycling. The ability to get out of the house, and get some fresh air, have saved me from going crazy. My Neighbor and I have ridden our bikes 2-3 times of week for the past months to stay fit and healthy.

Getting It Done- My Cycling Journey

It has been said, that we never forget how to ride a bike. You just get back on, Right? That is easier said than done when you’re an mature person. I have been very consistent, and I have made riding my Road Bike a part of my life.
